Jail Ministry

Pastor Lisa Cram, a chaplain through the Gleaners/Orange County Jail Ministries, began ministering at the jail in August 2005. Currently, Pastor Lisa conducts approximately eight church services per month at Orange County Jail IRC located in Santa Ana, California. The average attendance in these church services is 15 women (due to limited space available). As well as conducting inmate services for Powerhouse, Pastor Lisa is also a Chaplain Facilitator to other church groups providing services.

Pastor Lisa personally visits with individual inmates at both the Orange County Jail and James A. Musick Facility. Originally, in 2005, she began visiting just one inmate, which led to ten, and has snowballed from there. She now visits two days weekly averaging approximately 15 women each week.

Pastor Lisa schedules ongoing visits and makes it a priority to see them again prior to their release or transfer.

Along with the church services and personal visits, Pastor Lisa also mails out Bible studies to approximately 300 people monthly. While most of these are currently incarcerated in California jails and prisons, there are some who choose to remain on the mailing list after they are released from custody. In these correspondences, she always encourages people to find a church home upon their release and to live in a place that is safe and healthy, away from the destruction that got them into trouble to begin with. It was with this thought in mind that Pastor Gary and Lisa founded the Prelude Home, a place of refuge and recovery for those who are serious about bringing change into their lives.

The Prelude Home is a Christ centered recovery home founded by Pastors Gary and Lisa Cram.

It is a non-profit organization founded with one thought in mind:

Change is possible!

Pastors Gary and Lisa teach that what we believe about God, ourselves and others leads to our chosen behaviors. It requires courage to examine our beliefs and consider the possibility of making changes. Their mission is to compassionately coach and facilitate the relationship with God, allowing Truth to live in their heart. They firmly believe it is through Truth revealed by God that healthy life choices will manifest which ultimately will lead to one’s happiness.

Emotional, physical and spiritual recovery is available to everyone through the sacrifice and resurrection of Jesus Christ. It is their deepest desire to assist those who truly want change into their recovery process.
