Thoughts, by Pastor Warren: Study, Faith and Lifestyle are all necessary to take a Christian to his full measure. Most people who run the Christian race on their own either fail or fall short. Those who run well usually have a mentor, a teacher, or a Father figure to help them. I am convinced that Discipleship must find its place again in the Christian community. Discipleship entails sacrifice, both on the part of the disciple and on the one doing the discipleship. Discipleship is not a three day seminar or an open course on a special subject. It is a long term relationship of teaching, helping, mentoring, and more. Christians get discouraged, defeated and destroyed when they have no foundation. Discipleship lays the foundation of Christ, and then builds upon it the fundamentals of the Faith and Christian Living. We must not continue teaching "meat" to those who have no foundation. Those who are unsure of their Salvation, the Resurrection of Jesus, the Deity of Christ or the infallibility of the Bible should not be taught escatology or leadership principles. It is time for all Christians to make the foundations sure in their own life and then the lives of those around them. If we do, we will finish our own race well, and will actually be a positive influence to the world around us. At least those are my thoughts... |
Become A Disciple! Study, Learn and Grow in Christ while putting the devil under your feet. Eph. 1:22 "And (Jesus) hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church." Make your foundation sure and it will put a halt to failure. Learn To Mentor! Become strong to strengthen others and remember that Life is about more than just you and yours; it is about His Kingdom. To truly live for Christ, you must live like Christ, who gave Himself for all. Don’t Waste Your Life! Do what is right now and quit putting it off. You may not have tomorrow. We invite you to come and join the program and start a change in your life today. We are laying the foundations of faith to those who want an authentic Christian life and are willing to spend the time and effort to have it. We are laying the foundation on four pillars, and then we build on those pillars the fundamental Christian Doctrines and Christian living, including ethics, a principled life and more.
You
may think you know these things, but your life may say differently. Living
in these truths has no defeat in them. You must ask yourself, "Is
there defeat in my life?". If so, consider these foundations. You
must lay or re-lay these foundations in yourself so that they are real
and vital if you want to have victory in this life.
Matthew 28:18-20." And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen." We believe as we become grounded in the doctrines of Jesus, He has commissioned each of us to go out and reach others, teaching and instilling in them the same foundational doctrines. It is a self-sacrificing commission; it involves giving out to others that which we have been given. We believe these discipleship lessons will change your life, and as they do and you go out, you will be used to change the lives of others. Too many have yawned at the commitment that must be made to make disciples. Don't be one of them! Come join us in this great effort. The Apostle Peter was thrown in jail for his preaching of the Resurrection. He was passionate and powerfully persuasive in preaching this fundamental truth and it shook the world around him. Is anything shaking around you? What does your lifestyle say about you - not the lifestyle that is seen but the life you live in private? Are you just praying, praying, hoping and waiting for something to change, while doing things in private that you are not proud of? Or, is there a foundation of faith that is sustaining and holding you strong while changing the world around you. If you are like most, your private life is a mess. It is time to change all that. Pray about making a change in your life and then do something about it. If you are in a good church, go to them and ask them to help rebuild your foundations. If you are not, give us a call. But do something. Continuing in your disfunction is not going to end well for you.
