Let not Sin be once named among you!

Sin is the enemy; it separates you from God.

Making excuses for addiction, anger, pornography, fornication, etc. will keep you from dealing with your own sin. If it is always someone else's fault, then you can never be forgiven because Jesus died to forgive your sins, not someone else's. Jesus gave His life for sinners who repent and take responsibility for their own lives.

I once heard of the case concerning a person accused of a crime. He was guilty, but through extenuating circumstances he was offered a very short prison sentence if he would admit his guilt. Even though he had done the crime, he did not want to confess his guilt. In the end he was convicted and is presently serving a long prison term. His pride and his need to hide his sin worked against him. God has provided a way for you to be forgiven from the punishment you deserve. Your choice: heaven or hell, life or death.

If you have ever sinned, you are guilty before God and cut off from the promises that His forgiveness holds. The Bible says that if you confess your sins, Jesus is faithful and just to forgive your sins.

So it's your choice - retain your sins or confess them. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and live! Maybe it's time for you to confess your sins and receive Christ's forgiveness.

Once free, do not go back to your sin. Sin should not be once named among you.

Pray this prayer: Lord Jesus, I confess my sins and receive your forgiveness. Please come into my heart and give me new life.

Run the Race

The Apostle Paul wrote, "let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God."

He wrote in another place, "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:"

Paul did not just talk about his faith; he lived his faith. With Jesus as his example, each day was a race to be won, a course to be finished. Obedience, humility, holiness, love and more were all goals to be accomplished, courses to finish.

Your Life is a race. Every day there is a course set before you. From beginning to end, God has a plan and you can fulfill it, deny it or miss it depending on your awareness and willingness.

Paul said he was looking unto Jesus and doing so gave him direction and strength for the day. So the question is: what are you looking unto throughout your day? Is it keeping you on course and in the race? If not, you are off course and out of the race. Get your vision back where it belongs - on Jesus, and get back where you belong.
